Garage rockstar
Capital City Development Corp. began installing a new auto-pay system in its half-dozen downtown-Boise parking garages last month. CCDC’s ad agency, Oliver Russell, contracted with COMMposition to handle the media-relations aspects of the project, which shifted into high gear about a week before the planned announcement when Sven Berg broke the news March 25th on the front page of The Idaho Statesman. COMMposition reached out to the remaining Treasure Valley media STAT, successfully inserting the story into the day’s news cycle and garnering coverage on 19 of the 22 local newscasts that air every 24 hours. The media remained interested in the story as the new auto-pay system was activated in each garage, yielding significant sustained publicity throughout the month of April. Meanwhile, I began to actively manage the Facebook page and Twitter feed for COMMposition’s first dedicated social-media client — JungleBuzz PR Tools. I’ve learned a ton over the last month, and if you need to convert personal Facebook pages to corporate ones, dress up your profile or Twitter feed, engage friends and followers, or determine the best (and worst) times to post, I’m your go-to PR guy.
